I'm trying to get things going again on the forums so I thought this would be a good subject.  What do people think of the House Group Tasters planned for the summer?  I know that the stewards are hoping that it will generate interest for some more regular groups to spring up.  Methodism was pretty much born on 'House Groups' though they weren't called that originally.  I personally think they are a great way for us to stay in touch and share our thoughts, hopes, aspirations etc.  What do others think?

Apparently this post has been read 16 times--or is it the same person just being hopeful!

In general people have very little chance to share their faith and discuss Christian/religious based topics on a more informal level.  Housegroups are excellent for this. The more intimate setting helps people to share their thoughts when otherwise they would not have the courage to do so.  It also means that we learn from each other and often this can be very helpful and comforting.  I think this is a good topic for a discussion and I know there are people with strong feelings for and against.

Come on then---let's hear what you think Huh

I know that some of the house groups have got underway now.  Have we had any feedback.  If anyone reads this then tell us what you think, either as a leader or just a group member.

We have had 2 sessions which seem to have gone quite well.  I feel that the subjects for discussion are good, but not so sure about the construction of some of the questions.  They seem a bit simplistic, but we can make of them what we want.
At the end of the course it will be intereting to see how many people would like to be a more permanent part of a house group.  Smiley

I'm pleased that the House Group Tasters were such a success and thrilled that we have started a few new House Groups as a consequence.

Thanks to all the organisers for something that was undoubtedly a good idea.
